Some may ask why we need anything more than websites for digital immortality. You might as well ask why do we need more than books. Both books and websites are limited by technology. Currently, neither is intelligent nor interactivebut they could be. (Some form of interactive book is likely in less than two decades.)
One obvious difference is that anyone can have a website with millions of words while very few are able to achieve even a single book in print. The less apparent difference is that books in print have a finite lifetime while websites could last as long as civilization. Could, that is, if we solve the problem of perpetuation.
But digital immortality has to start somewhere, and today it's in the form of personal websites. Here is a minmial example, with just over a hundred pages.
